If your thoughtful and you know it...wash your hands:)

A nurse from the VNA came to our house today to make a plan for services. Mom (for now) is considered 'home bound' and therefore can receive a weekly nursing visit.  This will be helpful so she doesn't have to go to the lab to have blood drawn each week (she has to have blood work done the day before each chemo treatment) the nurse can draw the blood here in the house.  Today was a better day. We are starting to find our feet and hope to get a team together to help with in home care. She has (knock wood) handled this week's chemo treatment much better than last week.  She still has her hair. She is excited at the thought of her new hair coming in CURLY!
Thank you to friends for the cool sign to remind others to WASH YOUR HANDS, for a yummy dinner, 'walking therapy' and delish muffins!

Thank you to the fabulous nurses on 6C!

Mom is home today! Yippee! Above is a photo from this morning, with mom's new friend Daisy. Is it just me or do they look they use the same bottle of hair color? The nurses at Cottage on 6C made this hospital visit the best it could be--THANK YOU! A BIG SHOUT OUT to Nicole who really went above and  beyond to 'get things moving' !!!!!!!! Long live the brown cow!

This sweet video was made with love by our friend Sandie!
THANK YOU SANDIE!

Hair & Baseball

Yippee for the St. Louis Cardinals still being in the game! The Cards have brought hours of happy distraction during this week in the hospital! As you can see she still has a FULL head of hair. She will often pull on the hair and say "well it's still in there, not coming out yet!"
Today she enjoyed yummy home made chicken chili and yummy Crush Cupcakes-----I know it's an old joke but seriously they shouldn't feed hospital food to sick people--bluck!

Is it bragging if I am just stating a fact?

Quote of the night! The scene is Mom's hospital room.  She says "I can hear myself telling all of these nurses and PTs and OTs about how fabulous my kids and my grandkids are and how well I get along with my kid's spouses and I know it sounds like I am bragging. But is it bragging if I am just stating the facts?" She is feeling much better today but we do need the sodium levels to increase to a safe and normal range. She did get her 2nd treatment of chemo today, in her hospital room. The nurses are lovely and she is in good hands. What a difference a day makes!
Huge thanks to all of the sweet sweet friends who have supported us today and yesterday! Your help/love/caring is a huge boost to my mom and to all of us here at the Lado Casa! She certainly brags about this village or as I say she is just stating the facts!

E.R. Visit

Not a great night and day unfortunately. Had to get mom to the ER at 2:30 this morning by ambulance. She was in a lot of bad back pain, so they admitted her and she is there for now. She has super low sodium. More later. Please send your good thoughts and positive vibes.
